Using evidence-based dialectical behavior therapy and cognitive-based therapy approaches, you will be encouraged to explore "auto-pilot" thoughts and reactions that can lead to distress. You will be guided toward increased self-awareness, clarity, and new degrees of freedom to make better choices toward positive outcomes in your life. I strongly believe the therapeutic relationship is key to treatment success, and I view myself as a partner in your journey.

Individual therapy is offered in a traditional setting "on the couch" setting or outdoors in the form of "walk and talk" therapy. Walking and talking is especially suited to those who are not comfortable sitting for extended periods of time or opening up to a therapist face to face. While the emphasis is always on mental and emotional wellness, you will benefit from light exercise -- and being outdoors in itself is uplifting. We may incorporate mindfulness techniques, including awareness of breath and body as well as guided walking meditation to facilitate connecting with the present moment.
